UPBRINGING

Samkeliso Sinenhlanhla Makhaye was born in South Africa (SA), Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN), Durban, Inanda, in a small town called Ezimangweni.

Growing up in Ezimangweni (a small area), life was very difficult, as I was raised by uneducated and unemployed parents. Father and Mother were married, four (4) children, one (1) girl and three (3) boys, the girl was the firstborn and boys followed. I was the middle one in boys, not the first and not the last.

My Father was always there but very absent in our life while we were growing up since he was a serious alcoholic. Mother was the only parent who was very strong and able to put bread on the table with the little she got from work as a domestic worker.
